Please join the Historical Society to participate in sponsored activities and programs and share your knowledge of North Hampton.
Become A Volunteer
The Society holds a business meeting once per month at which time current and future activities are planned.
The CuratorsWorking Group meets every Friday morning from 9 to 11 at Town Offices.
Among possible volunteer opportunities are:
Program planning
Special Events Planning such as the Barn, Trolley & Cemetery Tours
Publicity for the Society’s activities (print, email, social media)
Merchandise creation or selection, promotion
Exhibit planning, design & installation
Oral history - interview and / or transcribe
Historical research and writing
Genealogical research and writing
Curatorial - identification, preservation, data entry
Become A Donor
A monetary contribution can help defray some common costs for a historical society:
Program fee or honorarium - $50 - $250
Exhibit supplies, reproductions - $30 - $100
Archival supplies - $5 - 20 for archival quality box;
$30 for 100 archival quality folders; $60 for album binder;
$25 for 50 inert polyester sleeves for photos and other materials
Preservation matting & framing - $150 up
Conservation treatment - $1000 up
Collections management software - $1500 up
Website, social media annual costs - $500 up
We are always seeking historical materials from or about North Hampton or Seacoast New Hampshire The Society’s current limited storage space prevents acceptance of large artifacts. Among the materials of interest are: Photographs, Postcards, Maps, Diaries, Account books and other bound manuscript or typed personal or business volumes, Manuscript or typed personal papers, letters, business records, organization records, or other documents as well as Family genealogies.
