Come to the Lafayette Trail Marker Dedication at the North Hampton Bandstand on Tuesday, September 13th at 10:00 a.m.

From 1824 to 1825 the Marquis de Lafayette made a farewell tour of the United States. Lafayette visited every state in the new nation. The General passed through North Hampton on September 1, 1824 traveling from Newburyport Massachusetts to Portsmouth. The townspeople presented a letter to Lafayette and he replied in 1825.
